Like any component, the vent and reseal pressure springs (also known as adapter plates) in your rotor are subject to wear and should be replaced periodically. While there is no single determinant on when your springs should be replaced, we wanted you to be aware of some of the factors that you should review:
- Are the springs discolored, cracked, or deteriorated at all?
- Have they been checked for proper shape using your provided spring gauge? Springs that pass through the slot in the gauge must be removed from service and replaced.
- Has a microwave absorption test been performed?
As there is no definitive test to positively confirm a proper working spring, we always recommend to err on the side of caution, as a poorly functioning spring can cause expensive damage to the vessel and its components.
You can find out more information relating to wear and tear in our Tips and Techniques Guide. Please consider replacing your springs replaced if you observe any of these factors affecting your rotor during digestion.
