Therefore, vessels are surrounded by safety shields made of PEEK (Polyether Ether Ketone) that help to physically hold the pressure in the vessel. The safety shields fundamentally contribute to the safety of the digestion process, so it is essential that they are in good conditions and regularly replaced. Their maintenance requires a simple washing and a quick drying, as PEEK does not absorb water. Safety shields should be replaced when any physical deterioration appears.
